Theory Thursday: Black Independent Political Power

Black Men Build believes that building and attaining power is the only way that Black people will shape our collective destiny.

However, when we say power, what does that mean? 

Black political power often gets defined by liberals and the ideas of the radical and revolutionaries get watered down beyond recognition.

During our last Mass Call, Comrade Claudia De la Cruz even mentioned that any hint of progressiveness dies once it reaches the Democratic Party and let’s not even get started on the Republicans.

So where does that leave the Black radical and revolutionary power building movements? How do we build power when the establishment doesn’t want us to exist?
